My Commitment

Value Study is built with privacy as a core principle. I believe your artwork and creative process are yours alone.

What I Don't Collect

• Your images: All image processing happens locally on your device. Your photos and artwork stay on your device unless you choose to add them to an online Collection (see below).
• Personal information: Without an account, I collect no names, emails, or personal data.
• Advertising data: I don't show ads, so I don't track ad-related data.

What I Do Collect

To improve the app, I collect minimal, anonymous analytics:

• App usage statistics: Which features are used most, app crashes, performance metrics. Collected via TelemetryDeck (privacy-focused analytics).
• Error logs: If the app crashes, I collect technical error information via Sentry to fix bugs. No image data is included.

If You Create An Account

Accounts are optional. If you create one so you can use Value Study across your devices, here's what gets stored:

• Sign in: Your email and a user ID. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or an email one-time code. There's no password.
• Purchases: Your subscription state is linked to your account so it works on every device you sign in on.
• Collections: If you use Collections, the images you add to them are stored in your account. Details in the next section.
• Crash reports: While signed in, crash reports get tagged with your account so I can follow up if needed. Image data is never included.
• Delete: You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.

Collections (Optional)

Collections let you keep reference images online so they're available on every device you sign in on. They're entirely optional: they need an account, and nothing is ever uploaded unless you add an image to a Collection yourself.

• What's stored: The images you add (plus smaller preview copies), any titles, descriptions and notes you write, and your tool session for each image so you can continue a study on another device. It all lives in your private storage on Supabase in London (eu-west-2).
• Location data is never stored: camera metadata (EXIF), including GPS location, capture time and device details, is stripped from every image before it leaves your device. It never reaches my servers.
• Who can see them: Your Collections are private to your account. Their content is only reviewed when you ask to share a Collection publicly, or when someone reports a shared Collection.
• Sharing: Off unless you turn it on, per Collection. A share link shows viewing-quality previews, and full-resolution originals only if you allow that. You can stop sharing at any time and the link stops working immediately.
• Checks before sharing: Shared Collections are checked before their link goes live. The automated check runs inside Value Study's own infrastructure and your images are never sent to third-party moderation services. Where a human review is needed, I do it myself.
• Deleting: You can remove images, delete a Collection, or delete your whole account at any time. After account deletion, everything is permanently removed within 30 days.

Services I Use

I lean on a small set of services to run the app. Each one was picked for its privacy posture:

• TelemetryDeck: Anonymous analytics. EU-based and GDPR compliant.
• Sentry: Crash and error reporting. Open source.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and purchase management.
• Supabase: Open source backend. Stores feature flag configuration, account data if you create an account, and the Collections you choose to keep online. My data is hosted in London (eu-west-2).
